This week, we’ve been finalising the layout of our first volume – ‘Oh, Whistle and I’ll Come to You, My Lad’. We’re delighted that King’s College, Cambridge, have granted us permission to print both of James McBryde’s 1903 beautiful illustrations as appeared in Ghost Stories of an Antiquary (1904), plus one of his drafts sketches for the story.
They will appear alongside four new internal illustrations by Robert Hack and a beautiful cover (paying homage to the Jonathan Miller 1968 version) by Sarah Coomer. And we have found some fascinating images to accompany the annotated text, including a plan of a Templar church and a previously unprinted photograph of one of the James circle.
Next week, our focus will be on getting ready for the Kickstarter campaign and trailing its launch. There’s a lot to do, but we’re excited to share the project far and wide. Please share with friends and help us get the word out so we get this multi-volume project off to a great start.
